Text Box: Opinion, Opinion, Every One Has an Opinion

This page is dedicated to the presentation of opinion I do not necessarily agree or disagree with the opinions put forth here but we do invite you to weigh them by considering the source and your own common sense. Even a liar tells the truth some times. Intelligent people can disagree but intelligent people can tell bull shit by the smell and do not need an expert to guide them.

Most peoples beliefs are other peoples opinion, they  parody  a perceived  notion that finds expression in the passion of some “expert” that has must likely, in turn absorbed it in like fashion. Perhaps this is the base of the saying “what goes around, comes around.”
I do not get too excited over whatever  is serves up as "TV NEWS". It all goes though a filter anyway and anyone analyzing such material is on very thin ice, and also is a prime candidate for a time-waster-of-the-year award. You see, people usually act in a contradictory manner.  I have had personal experiences where fact, as I observed, was not that as described by the media. People love gossip and between talking an issue to death, and paying someone off, they think all problems can be solved. I do not care how efficient your mental processing is -- garbage in -- garbage out. That's one thing the media specializes in -- garbage -- and I spend very little time on it trying to make sense of it, but for those who want to go there some of the contradicted postings are links here that should qualify.
The government and the media operate in tandem when it comes to redefining our language. Which group is the leader, is hard to say. It's like swallowing cyanide and arsenic at the same time and then wondering which one was most responsible for the death. A society which refuses to think for itself and becomes governed by a syndicate of word-twisters, allows the definers to gain control .Political correctness is all about word taboo and word redefining. Some of this perversion of the language is conspiratorial but probably most of it is a part of the "feel good" atmosphere where all must happily exist without having to deal with the problems of reality. To communicate we need to speak the same language with agreed upon definitions. With out it it places the society in a position of everyone babbling to one another, using what appears to be a common language , with the result that no one knows what in hell the other fellow is yapping about. Communication is about the exchange of value judgments, factual statements, and ideas, and if the thoughts of one are changed into words which mean something else to the receiver, then all that transpired was only an exchange of noises. Most every thing expressed on this web site is OPINION my own included. I give my opinion, of which you may agree or disagree, hoping that it furnishes some seed to clear thought. To tell me that I am wrong concerning some opinion of mine, is to completely miss the point -- opinions are neither right nor wrong for those words are only correctly applied to facts and believe me, all of us do not have very many facts on our side for much of our mental wanderings are based upon faith. With that said I invite you to peruse with caution the information presented here and let your common sense be your guide keeping in mind that the links at the left are for diversity and do not necessarily express my views.

Some may have noticed that I have been absent from these pages for a few months. Life deals us surprises when we least expect but it's all in the game. Recently I was goosed by the fickle finger of fate. The realization of how fragile and fleeting life is was dramatically brought to the fore front of my being. In a flash life was altered, thrown in disarray and changed. In the proverbial split second all went from well being to fright to helplessness and finally to realization. Voices --“he fell” .-“how?” “ I don’t know”—“he’s bleeding from his ear” –“don’t try to move him!” –“we don’t know if anything is broken”- “call 911 get an ambulance, cover him we need to cover him—it’s cold.” OK I’ll put this coat over him” –“the ambulance is on the way keep him warm till they get here.” --“how do you feel, don’t try to move—help is coming.” All these voices tell me I am not alone that others are doing there best to help, some family, some neighbors, some strangers but all of them human beings. reacting in a human way.
Thoughts –what happened?--I fell—fell backwards—no pain—can’t move—cold, very cold, I’m freezing. Voices “the ambulance is here he’ll be alright”. The sound of a stretcher being moved along side. Voices of the professional “got to get this collar on him” feeling my head being held and collar slipped on – good sign I can feel, Covered with blanket. Lifted—put into position on stretcher—stretcher lifted –wheels drop down we roll along deck to staircase—many hands help as the stretcher is passed up stairs to set down on upper deck then to be rolled out to the ambulance and raised to be slid in. Doors slam shut securing me into the vehicle.

The trip over familiar roads is traced in my mind and finally up the long hospital drive way to halt at the doors of the ER. The ambulance backs in and stops. A minute later the rear doors open hands grab the stretcher and roll it out. as the wheels drop to the pavement and I am wheeled through the parting doors and into the ER.I open my eyes, it is bright, and look into the familiar face of the attending doctor who calls me by name. What happened? My wife's voice answers. I look and see her standing there holding my hand, which I do not feel, and giving an account of accident noting that my arm seems to be broken and there is much bleeding on the side of my head. Doctor is taking my vitals and saying "we must get him in to x-ray". To me he says "cheer up you could be much worse." Wheeled into X-ray room,. pictures taken and back to ER still conscious and trying "to cheer up". doctor appears and sure enough he was right I had cheered up and things were worse, a smashed hip; broken shoulder, an arm broken in two places and ear hanging off with internal bleeding that called for immediate surgery.

Now is decision time. We are told that this hospital can not handle the needed surgery. We must be moved, to one that could ,as soon as possible. Wife and I were explained the options -distance,. facilities, surgeon availability , surgeons repetition and experience. Talked it over and decided on one a hundred miles away. Hasty phone calls for an ambulance, call to receiving hospital to prepare for arrival, alerting surgeon and finally bundled up for road trip.. Slid on to stretcher and loaded into ambulance. with x-rays laying on chest. Fully awake and fairly alert through this process and contributed to the decision. on hospital and surgeon,
No pain and reasonably comfortable traveling roads and highways to at length arrive at destination and rolled into, not the ER but OR prep room. Someone takes the envelope with the X-rays and disappears another takes my vitals. and I am alone. Minutes go by when a friendly face is introducing himself-the surgeon. he is saying we are going to operate just as soon as you are ready. Well I am ready and some one injects my arm. Wake up in recovery room fighting the effects of morphine that has been administered as pain killer. Crazy out of my mind, paranoid suspicious of all around me resisting all efforts of nurses and staff to comfort me. Pass out and awake calm. Doctor telling me that surgery had gone well.

Then follows weeks of painful and intensive rehabilitation by a very competent and skillful staff. Almost daily reminders "no pain no gain" punctuated by bouts of torture some exercise to strengthen limbs and finally arriving 15 weeks later to being recovered enough to stand and haltingly walk. By the twenty first week I am released and returned home alive and “well”. having leaned that all of us must come to terms with our mortality or live in fantasy. We rest more easily when we do, but the sprit, the very will to live, burns in most of us and erupts untended to fight that "good battle" . And some times we win a temporal victory.
